BURUNDI - TURIHAMWE WASHING STATION (women producers). "In the highlands of Ngozi Province, northern Burundi, a remarkable story of collaboration, resilience, and empowerment is unfolding. At 1,750 meters above sea level, the Turihamwe Turashobora washing station —whose name means “Together We Can” in Kirundi—stands as a symbol of what’s possible when vision meets determination. The main variety is Bourbon, and as per most of the arabica producing area in Burundi the harvest takes place from March to June, where cherries are carefully handpicked for consistency of ripeness and brought to the station for processing daily.
